Insider Tip: Don’t waste your valuable time sifting through endless online family profiles that are sometimes plagiarized, counterfeit, misleading, or even fraudulent. Should you trust the security of yourself to someone who simply posts a charismatic or charming profile? Of course not. A picture with a written profile can be misleading, unreliable, and even sometimes deceptive.

Thorough Background Checks

There are different tier levels of background checks that we will perform on you. You must have a clean background check!

Phone interview
In-person interview or online face-time
National criminal check
County criminal records check
Sexual offender check
Driving history check
Social security number trace check
Reference checks
Social media check

Our team conducts an exhaustive vetting process for every professional. This includes rigorous criminal background checks, registry verifications, and driving history audits to ensure your total peace of mind. Beyond these standard measures, we perform a suite of additional proprietary screenings and character evaluations. Your Placement Coordinator will discuss the full depth of our security protocols with you during your interview.

Fees & Employment

Do I have to pay a fee to use Georgia Dream Nannies?

No. Our placement services are completely free for all candidates and job seekers. The hiring families cover all agency fees.

Who will be my official employer?

The family who hires you will be your official employer. Georgia’s Dream Nannies, A Dream Nannies Company is a placement agency that connects you with vetted families, but we do not directly employ you.

Will I receive a W-2 or a 1099 form?

According to IRS guidelines, household employees are generally considered W-2 employees rather than independent contractors. While Dream Nannies requires families to commit to legal, on-the-books pay, please note that we do not provide legal, tax, or financial advice. All specific tax arrangements, withholdings, and filings must be verified and handled directly between you and your employing family. We highly recommend consulting a certified tax professional or a household payroll service regarding your specific tax situation.

What are “Guaranteed Hours” and will I get them?

Guaranteed hours mean that you are paid for a set number of hours each week, even if the family decides they don’t need you (for example, if they go on vacation). While we strongly advocate for professional standards like guaranteed hours, all scheduling, hours, and employment terms are ultimately negotiated and agreed upon directly between the family and the candidate. Georgia’s Dream Nannies, A Dream Nannies Company does not set or enforce these terms.

What kind of benefits can I expect to receive?

Benefits vary by family, but most of our long-term positions include standard professional benefits such as:

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid vacation days
  • Paid sick leave
  • Paid federal holidays
  • Mileage reimbursement (at the standard IRS rate) if you drive your own vehicle for the job

Support & Job Security

How do you vet families to ensure they are safe employers?

We vet families just as thoroughly as we vet our candidates. Before any family is accepted into our network, they must complete an extensive application, go through a detailed consultation process, and agree to our strict guidelines regarding safe, respectful, and legal employment practices.

Am I allowed to start working for a family immediately, babysit for them, or do a trial run while we are still in the interview process?

No. Candidates are strictly prohibited from working, babysitting, performing trial shifts, or starting any duties with a family before Georgia Dream Nannies has officially approved the placement.

All client families sign a binding agreement with our agency. Working with a family outside of our official, monitored process violates these agency terms. Furthermore, our extensive background checks and vetting procedures must be fully completed and finalized before you can safely begin any childcare or household duties.

If a family asks you to work, babysit, or do a “trial run” prior to an official agency approval, please decline and notify us immediately so we can handle the proper protocol.

Will you let me know if a family decides not to move forward with my application?

Yes. We respect your time and know how stressful waiting can be. We promise to keep you updated throughout the interview process and will always notify you when a family has made a final decision, even if they choose to go in a different direction.

Logistics & Profile Tips

What am I expected to do regarding housekeeping, cooking, or managing the home?

Your day-to-day duties are determined entirely by the specific job description you applied for and the final agreement negotiated between you and the family.

Do I need to drive my own vehicle for the job?

This depends on the specific family’s needs. Some positions require you to drive your own safe, reliable vehicle to transport children to activities or school, while others may provide a household vehicle for you to use. Any job posting will clearly outline these requirements before you apply.

Is my job search kept confidential?

Absolutely. We understand that many candidates are currently employed while looking for a new role. Your resume, references, and profile will only be shared with prospective families with your explicit permission.

How can I make my profile stand out to families?

The most successful candidate profiles include:

  • A professional, warm, and clear profile photo
  • A detailed bio that highlights your specific childcare philosophy and experiences
  • Up-to-date certifications (CPR/First Aid, Newborn Care Specialist, etc.)
  • Written letters of recommendation from past childcare employers
