Communication Is The Key To Unlock A Great Working Relationship

Communicating With Your Georgia Nanny

Once you have found your Georgia’s Dream Nanny, it is vital to communicate effectively with her. Not only for your own peace of mind, but also to better your child’s overall development.

The Household Staff Placement Agreement from our nanny service/household placement agency plays a key role in yours and your nanny’s life. Do your best to be home on time, and try not to add extra chores or responsibilities. If you want make additions to the Household Staff Placement Agreement, talk with your nanny first and make sure she is in agreement.

A good idea is to touch base with your nanny often. For example: when she arrives, let her know if your child slept poorly, or if he is not feeling well. Plan for her to share the same details when you come home. Also, plan a specific time once a week, or once a month, to talk about any issues that arise. It might be that your child has a new love for whales and your nanny thinks she and your child should visit the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta. Or, it could be that your child is forming a bad habit and you want your nanny to be aware. It could also be that you do not like something you nanny does or says.

It is in the best interest of your child that you and your nanny do not have any unresolved issues. When communicating with your nanny about a problem, remember to have a neutral tone in your voice so that you do not come across as accusatory. You want your nanny to feel comfortable enough to come to you with any concerns she might have.

Make sure you praise her! If you like something she is doing with your child, tell her. If you like the way she interacts with your child, let her know! She knows your child is the most important person in your life. Let her know that you appreciate how she cares for your child.

Finally, the Golden Rule goes a long way. Treat your nanny the way you would want to be treated by your employer. Listen to her suggestions and try to be flexible if something comes up in her life. It is important for you to feel valued by your employer. It is no different for your nanny. She is arguably one of your most important employees.
