Georgia's Dream Nannies is not like any of the other online nanny sites that you may see on the web.  We are a full-service nanny, housekeeper and household manager placement service.  In other words, you will not be able to scroll through our website searching for family profiles. This takes a lot of precious time if you try it on your own, and not too mention that it's not completely safe.  Everyone’s looking for shortcuts and ways to cut time and save money. That’s a good way to be, but oftentimes people get just the opposite result they wanted. Many nannies, housekeepers or household managers don't think twice who will interview them or where they will be working.  It’s something to think about.

What about on-line nanny or sitter "do it yourself" website?   Don't waste your valuable time sifting through endless family profiles that are sometimes plagiarized, counterfeit, misleading, or even fraudulent.

Should you trust the security of yourself to someone who simply posts a charismatic or charming profile?  Of course not.  A picture with a written profile can be misleading, unreliable, and even sometimes deceptive.

You see, Georgia's Dream Nannies does all of the work for you to help you find a job for FREE.  We are a full-service nanny placement agency.  To begin the process, you will need to fill out an online application. Next, a placement coordinator will contact you and help walk you through the remaining steps.  It's that simple!  We will help you find your Dream nanny, housekeeper or household manager job the SAFE and easy way!

What if I don't hear back from you?

1. Check your e-mail! We generally e-mail you first

2. Call our office at (770) 924 - 3560 or  e-mail us

Last but not least, make sure that you sound positive when you speak to us or leave us a message. We have to talk to many people and listen to many messages during the day. It will benefit you to have a positive attitude when you are inquiring about a job.

6 Ways To be Happy in your nanny job!

  1.      Choose to be happy!  It may sound simple, but if you have a positive outlook on your job,  then you will enjoy it more!

 2.     Avoid being negative! Don't let a stressed out parent ruin your day or an unruly child make you pull your hair out. Choose to be happy!

 3.     Only make commitments that you can keep! Don't promise to babysit every other Friday night if you really don't want to do it.

4.        Grow! Read a child related book that will help you grow in your field. Take online childcare classes or go back to school and learn more about the childcare field.

 5.     Ask your employer for feedback! Tell your employer that you want to grow and do your best, so ask them to give you constructive feedback!

6.      Make friends with other nannies in the childcare field! Don't gossip when you get together, but encourage one another instead.

Household employees must be compensated according to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), which provides the framework for federal and state wage and hour law. The FLSA classifies household employees as non-exempt workers, requiring that the household employment industry provide overtime pay.

Whether a household employee is paid by the hour or on a salary, they are entitled to overtime pay if they work more than 40 hours per week. Overtime time pay must be paid at 1.5 times the standard hourly rate. If an employee is paid on an hourly basis, overtime pay is easy to track. If an employee is paid a salary for a standard work week of more than 40 hours, overtime pay should be addressed as a component of the written contract to ensure protection under the law.

Household employees must be compensated according to the Federal Labor Standards Act (FLSA), which
provides the framework for federal and state wage and hour law. The FLSA classifies household employees as non-exempt workers, requiring that the household employment industry provide overtime pay. The following outlines what you need to know in order to structure your household employment relationship successfully.
Standard and Overtime Pay

• The standard workweek is defined as 40 hours in a 7-day period.
• An employee’s hourly earnings must be equal to or greater than the federal minimum wage. Some states
have a higher minimum wage which trumps the federal rate.
• Overtime must be paid at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate – and it must be paid for all hours worked over 40 in a week.
• Overtime is not required for holidays worked.
• No limit is placed on the number of hours worked in a 7-day workweek, as long as the employee is fairly
 compensated.
• Live-in household employees do not have to be paid overtime but are entitled to the regular hourly wage for every hour worked.
• Additional overtime requirements can be imposed by the state. Please contact us for specific overtime
requirements in each state.
Overtime requirements must be met even when a salary is paid.
When a household employee is paid in the form of a salary rather than an hourly wage, the regular hourly rate and the overtime rate that comprise the salary should be addressed as a standard part of the employment contract.
An example:
A nanny and family agree upon a gross salary of $600 per week for a 48-hour work week.
The regular rate for the first 40 hours is $11.54 per hour.
The overtime rate for the remaining 8 hours per week is $17.31 per hour.
The total weekly salary is $600.
It is recommended that salary, as well as the regular rate and overtime rate, be addressed in writing in order to protect both employer and employee. When overtime is not explicitly stipulated in the employment contract for salaried employees, the law will side with the employee in an overtime dispute. More importantly, a critical relationship may terminate over a wage issue that could have been handled correctly and easily at the time of hiring.
